First time attendee

Pros: International attendee base, incredible speakers, theatrical presentation

Cons: Smaller conference than advertised, big-name press and investors kept secret if in attendance at all

Our journey to The Next Web in Brooklyn took much longer than anticipated because of the location, but we arrived eventually and jumped into the keynote speaker auditorium. We loved the speakers all day and we were there to experience another "tech event" to compare and contrast to other tech events we've attended in 2016. This one is one I might recommend as a #CNWin, but I think there are others that are more valuable. Collision, for example. I particularly liked the speaker format of 25 minutes to speak. The chairs were comfortable, the food choices were ample, and there was never a line at the bathroom.

What would you like to see repeated in a future event? Loved hearing from the CEOs of Reddit and Foursquare. Would like to hear more about how, internationally, tech companies are working to do more social good in impoverished nations.

What can the event do without? Although I rated the venue as adequate, I'd suggest holding the event at a hotel or conference center. It was sketchy in Brooklyn.
