The Council of Industrial Engineering Academic Department Heads (CIEADH) and the Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers (IISE) requests nominations for the IISE Doctoral Colloquium to be held Saturday, May 19, 2018 preceding the IISE Annual Conference and Expo in Orlando, Florida.
This all-day event is designed for doctoral candidates expecting to graduate by the Spring of 2019. Panels of experts will lead discussions on various topics including the job search, life in academia and industry, the tenure process, teaching, research, and professional service. Students are required to present their dissertation research in a poster session on Sunday, May 20. A panel will review the posters and award a best poster designation on Sunday, so students should plan to attend the Sunday session of the conference.
This all-day event is designed for new faculty (specifically junior faculty within their first three years on a tenure-track assistant professor appointment) to provide information that can be useful for successfully navigating the challenges of an academic career and gaining tenure and promotion. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, network with peers and interact with senior-level professors.
